Mary Beth Daniels

Mary Beth Daniels, 73, passed away on November 28, 2023 surrounded by loved ones. She was born on October 16, 1950 to Fillmore and Elizabeth (ne Weir) in Las Vegas, Nevada. Being part of a military family, she lived in many states and Germany, before settling in NM in 1965. She graduated from UNM, earning special Education degrees, and embarked on a teaching career spanning 35 years, devoting herself to the development and education of hundreds of special needs children. Unfailingly kind and generous, she gave unstintingly of her time and resources, often at great expense to herself.

A devoted mother, she is survived by her son Patrick, and loving siblings Michael, Nancy, Jeannie (Kathy), Laurie, and Jim (Susan), and nieces and nephews Elora, Mia, Matthew and Colin. Of special note was her steadfast and loyal friend Jennie, who supported her through thick and thin. She was predeceased by the parents, sister Kathy and brother Patrick. Mary Beth will be remembered for her love of dogs, and her gentle spirit and kindness, enduring many life challenges with grace and dignity. Her family and friends mourn the loss of such a beautiful soul, but she is finally at peace.

A Celebration of Life will be held at a future date. Donations in her name may be made to Animal Humane NM.
